Located on route 164 a state of Connecticut scenic road, in the heart of the Mystic Country. The B&B at Roseledge Herb Farm in Preston CT is open year round and is about 1 hour from Boston and 2 hours from New York City, 45 minutes from Providence RI and Hartford CT. Our B&B/Herb Farm is easily accessible by car and is 25 minutes from the New London ferry service. We are 55 minutes from Bradley airport in CT and 30 minutes from TF Green airport in RI. Located 4 miles north of Foxwoods Casino and on and off the highway to the Mohegan Sun Casino. It is a lovely country drive on Shewville Road from Mystic (Seaport, Aquarium), and the Stonington area. Newport RI (use route 138) is about an hour away and our favorite Wickford Village is 45 minutes away from our inn. Twice winners of the "BEST" of New England by Bed and Breakfast.com.

After five years of visits, Roseledge keeps it's reputation as one of the best B&B's we have ever been to. The hosts are fun to be around, the gardens and grounds outstanding, and the breakfasts excellent. Oh....did I mention that the almost 300 year old rooms have been remodeled? My girlfriend and I had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before staying at Roseledge. From the moment we pulled into the driveway, it was a breath of fresh air. You're welcomed by beautiful greenery and flowers and the chickens! We had the luxury of staying in two different rooms (because we decided last minute to stay another night) and both rooms were inviting and cozy. Surrounded by beautiful antiques that overflow with character and oversized comfy featherbeds that engulf you, you can't help but feel at home. If you're looking to get away from it all and free your mind of all chatter and everday life, THIS is thee place to be. Sandy makes an excellent fire (perfect for S'mores) and Gail's breakfast, treats, and fresh lemonade are out of this world. We will definitely be back again and again.

You can find some great breakfast and casinos games are really nice graphism. So i advice to jouer au casino in this fabulous Mytic CT Hotel.

We truly enjoyed a winter break at this lovely B&B. Gail & Sandy were so welcoming from the minute we arrived, starting our stay with tea and cookies in the sitting room, until our departure. This was our first stay at a B&B and made us feel as though we'd like to try it again. The rooms are lovely and the bed was very comfy. Everything was decorated for Valentine's Day and so clean, which must be difficult in a 300 year old house. Breakfast was outstanding and prepared at a time we selected.

This B&B is a lovely and charming house and being a 300 year old structure, it was immaculately kept and was full of character. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The owners were very nice and friendly and really made us feel welcome. They gave us great recommendations on where to go nearby and provided us with a scrumptious breakfast that would have been fit for a King! We were so well looked after that we were even given cookies to take on the road with us - their kind hospitality really made this stay a memorable one!

Cape Cod Cranberry Coffee Cake

For the cranberry filling:

1 1/2 cups chopped cranberries ( I use whole)

1/4 cup water

2/3 cup sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

For the streusel topping

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon flour

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon sliced almonds (optional)

For the coffee cake:

11/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 ground nutmeg

3 tablespoon butter

2 large egg whites

1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk or soured milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1. To prepare the cranberry filling, in a small saucepan, combine the cranberries and water. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes or until tender.

In a small bowl, stir together the 2/3 cup sugar and the cornstarch, then stir into cranberry mixture. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, for 4 minutes or until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat.

2. Preheat oven to 350 F. To prepare streusel topping, in medium-size bowl, stir together the 1/4 cup sugar and the 1/4 cup flour. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in the 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in almonds(if using). Set aside.

3. To prepare the coffee cake, in a large bowl, stir together the 11/2 cups flour, the 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and nutmeg. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in the 3 tablespoons butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl, combine the egg whites, buttermilk, and vanilla. Add to flour mixture all at once and stir just until combined.

4. Spread two-thirds of the batter into a lightly greased 9-inch round pan ( I use a cheese cake pan so that I can display it better). Spread the cranberry filling over batter. Drop the remaining batter in small mounds on top of cranberry filling. Sprinkle with streusel topping. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden. Serve warm. Makes 9 servings.

I usually doble the filling when I make this!
